Executive Summary from Our Recent School Review
Thank you to all staff, students and families who contributed to our school review process. The review highlighted many strengths in our school, including our dedicated teaching staff, the strong sense of community and the positive culture of learning evident across all classrooms. It also provided us with clear next steps to strengthen our focus on consistent curriculum delivery, data-informed teaching and ensuring every student experiences success. Over the coming week, we will have the Executive Summary uploaded to our school’s website.
The Importance of Attendance
Every school day matters. Regular attendance is one of the most important factors influencing student achievement and wellbeing. Missing even one day of school can make it challenging for students to keep up with learning and maintain strong peer relationships. We encourage all families to prioritise daily attendance so that every child can make the most of the opportunities provided. If your child is unwell or unable to attend school, please notify the office promptly.

Thank You to Our P&C – Father’s Day Stall
A huge thank you to our wonderful P&C for organising the Father’s Day Stall. Our students loved having the opportunity to purchase something special for their fathers, grandfathers and important people in their lives. The smiles on students’ faces were a testament to the thought and effort put into this event. We are grateful for the time and support of our P&C volunteers.
Celebrating Teacher Aide Appreciation Week
This week we celebrate our incredible teacher aides! They play a vital role in supporting student learning, building relationships and helping classrooms run smoothly every day. We are grateful for their dedication, care and the countless ways they make a difference in the lives of our students, teachers and community.
Please join us in thanking our teacher aides for everything they do.

Countdown to Year 6 Camp is On!
Excitement is building as we count down the weeks to the Year 6 Camp! A friendly reminder to families that all payments must be finalised by 15th September so we can confirm numbers with the camp facility.
If your child is attending camp and requires medication, please ensure you collect a Medication Administration Form from the office as soon as possible. All medication must be clearly labelled with the child’s name and instructions from a doctor to meet safety guidelines.
We can’t wait to see our Year 6 students enjoy this fantastic learning experience!
Year 5 Discover the Wonders of Science with Street Science’s Perfect Polymers
Year 5 students were treated to an exciting and interactive science show, Perfect Polymers, presented by the team from Street Science. The show was designed to bring our current Science curriculum unit to life and spark curiosity about the world of matter.
In term 3, students are broadening their classification of matter to include gases and exploring how matter structures the world around them. They are learning that solids, liquids and gases share some properties but also have distinct differences in the way they behave. The Street Science experience provided the perfect opportunity to see these ideas in action.
Street Science provided demonstrations and hands-on experiments, students were able to witness the properties of polymers and the ways in which matter can transform. The show linked directly to our learning focus: asking scientific questions, making predictions, and planning investigation methods. Students observed changes in solids, liquids and gases.
Highlights of the performance included colourful reactions, stretchy and slimy materials, and engaging experiments that challenged students to think like scientists. Each activity encouraged them to reflect on how investigations can be made fair and accurate, and how everyday materials are connected to scientific concepts.

Year 6 Farewell Ceremony
Please make note, our Year 6 Farewell Ceremony will be held at 1.30pm till 3pm on Thursday the 11th of December, 2025. Invites to families of Year 6 students will be provided to Year 6 students in Week 1, Term 4.

Why Screen Time Matters
Ever turned off the iPad and instantly found yourself in a meltdown negotiation with a very determined small human? You’re not alone. Sometimes the challenge isn’t the screen itself but what happens after.
Screen Time Tip: Notice the ‘After Screen’ Mood
What is it?
Start paying attention to how your child feels after screen time. Are they calm and ready to move on, or cranky and overstimulated? For example, one child might bounce straight from a TV show to dinner, while the another comes off a fast-paced game grumpy and restless for the next half an hour.
Why is it important?
Different screen activities affect kids differently. Fast paced games or endless YouTube clips can leave kids wired, while slower shows or creative apps might not. Research shows that transitions are hardest when kids go straight from an interactive or fast-moving screen time to structured tasks like homework or bedtime. Adding a short buffer like reading, drawing or simply chatting, can really ease that jump
What difference will you see?
Families who build in ‘after screen buffers’ often notice:
- Smoother transitions. Fewer arguments when screens turn off
- Kids settling into homework, dinner or bedtime more easily
- Evenings feeling less like a battle zone and more like family time
Of course, meltdowns still happen, that’s kids! But noticing why they happen after screen time, and making small tweaks, can really easy those tricky moments.
