FROM THE PRINCIPAL

As this term comes to an end, I want to thank you all for your support. Browns Plains State School is an incredible school with an incredible community.
Teaching and Learning
It has been a privilege to share in the learning experiences that students have had the opportunity to engage in. Our dedicated teachers and support staff look for ways to advocate for student voice, agency and continually explore ways to provide opportunities for all learners to engage in the curriculum. We have seen students read rich texts and connect with authors through the language used to draw in the reader.
This term, it has been a privilege to share in the many rich learning experiences that our students have engaged in. Our dedicated teachers and support staff continue to advocate strongly for student voice and agency and consistently explore innovative ways to ensure that every learner has meaningful opportunities to engage with the curriculum.
Throughout the term, students have immersed themselves in reading rich and varied texts, making thoughtful connections with authors through the language and techniques used to draw in the reader. Classrooms have been alive with discussion, creativity and collaboration as students deepened their understanding and built confidence in expressing their own ideas.
As we reflect on the achievements of this term, it is clear that our school community remains united in its commitment to nurturing curious, capable and confident learners.
Thank you P&C
We extend our thanks to the P&C for their wonderful efforts this term. The Father’s Day Stall was well received by students and families and the Colour Run was an outstanding success. It was fantastic to see so many families at the Colour Run supporting their children, enjoying the atmosphere and lending a hand with preparations.
A special thank you goes to our P&C President, Veronica, for her ongoing support and commitment throughout the term. Your contributions are valued and make a difference in the life of our school community.
We invite families to attend the next P&C meeting on 14th October at 9:15am. This is a great opportunity to connect, share ideas and be part of the planning for Term 4 P&C events.
Cyber Safety – Keeping our children safe online
As our children spend more time online, it is important to support them in developing safe and responsible digital habits. Parents can help by:
- Talking regularly with your child about what they do online.
- Setting clear rules about screen time and safe websites or apps.
- Reminding them never to share personal details such as name, address or passwords.
- Encouraging them to report anything that makes them feel uncomfortable.
Below you find links to resources to support parents:
- eSafety Commissioner provides advice to parents on keeping children safe online. You will also find information about the upcoming changes to social media. These changes will come into effect from 10th December this year. https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents
- Queensland Government Cybersafety: https://www.qld.gov.au/education/schools/health/cybersafety
Together we can help our students enjoy the benefits of technology while staying safe.
We wish all families a safe and happy break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for the start of Term 4 on Tuesday, 7 October.

FROM THE DEPUTY

As we head into the school holidays, I’d like to remind families about the importance of road safety, particularly for children who will be out and about on bikes and scooters. Please encourage your child to wear a helmet, use footpaths safely, and be extra cautious when crossing roads. Your support in reinforcing these safe practices helps keep all of our students safe during the holiday break.
This term has been filled with engaging and exciting learning opportunities. Our students have been working hard to explore new concepts and apply their knowledge to set tasks with curiosity and persistence. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they share their learning in different ways. I am proud of their achievements and look forward to building on this momentum in Term 4.
Next term promises to be another exciting one, with many special events on the horizon. Our Year 6 students will enjoy their much-anticipated camp, and we will celebrate the academic achievements of our students at the Academic Awards. For our graduating Year 6s, preparations are already underway for their Graduation Ceremony, which will be a memorable milestone as they prepare for the next chapter in their education.
I would like to wish all students, staff, and families a wonderful holiday break. Take the time to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together. I look forward to welcoming everyone back on 7th October for an exciting Term 4.

Triple P Seminars Next Term
Every family has tricky moments. Bedtime dramas, screen-time debates, morning rushes. To help make those moments easier and more enjoyable, the school is offering a series of free Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) sessions next term.
These sessions are relaxed, practical and designed to support the great parenting parents and carers are already doing. They’re not classes about “fixing” anyone; they simply share proven ideas to help children grow in confidence and to make family life calmer and less stressful.
Starting Week 2 next term, there will be four sessions (offered over two time-slots for parent convivence). Come to one or all four, each offers strategies you can use right away.
The first session, “The Power of Positive Parenting,” looks at everyday approaches such as clear communication, planning ahead for challenging situations, and responding calmly to children’s emotions. These skills help children develop resilience and self-esteem while giving parents more confidence and less conflict at home.
Session details
• When: 15th October at 9am or 22nd October at 1.30pm
